As a specialized automatic anti-backflow device, the ductile iron rubber flap check valve has a valve body primarily made of ductile iron and a valve disc core constructed from elastic rubber. Its operation is entirely self-contained: forward medium pressure pushes the rubber flap open to allow unobstructed flow, while reverse pressure and the inherent elastic restoring force of the rubber flap work together to ensure reliable sealing, eliminating the need for external drive mechanisms. This configuration effectively combines the robust structural strength of ductile iron with the excellent flexible sealing characteristics of rubber flaps.

Characteristics

NBR rubber valve disc is oil and water resistant, suitable for conventional media such as water and oil; EPDM rubber valve disc is acid and alkali resistant, aging resistant, and can be used in sewage treatment and weak acid and weak alkali medium transportation scenarios.

Valve Characteristics

Key Advantages

01 Valve Body

Made of QT450-10 and other grades of ductile iron casting, with a straight through horn mouth design for the flow channel. The inner wall is smooth and the flow area is large, which can reduce the flow resistance of the medium and avoid impurity accumulation. Main connection method is flange connection, and some small caliber models can be customized with clamp connection.

02 Rubber Valve Disc

Made of nitrile rubber (NBR) or ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) molded, integrated with the sealing surface of the valve seat, without hinges, shafts or other moving parts. The valve disc is umbrella shaped or petal shaped, with excellent elasticity and wear resistance. When opened, it can fully adhere to the inner wall of the valve body.

03 Limit Device

Equipped with a stainless steel limit block, it can limit the maximum opening angle of the valve disc (usually 60°~70°), prevent excessive deformation or damage of the valve disc caused by high-pressure medium impact, and ensure precise alignment when the valve disc is reset.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What are the main benefits of the rubber flap design?

The rubber flap design eliminates hinges and shafts, reducing moving parts that are prone to wear. This results in zero leakage and high reliability even in media containing impurities.

Q2: Which rubber material should I choose for my application?

NBR is ideal for water and oil media. If your system involves sewage treatment or weak acidic/alkaline media, EPDM is recommended for its superior resistance and aging properties.

Q3: How does the limit device protect the valve?

The stainless steel limit block restricts the valve disc's opening angle to 60°~70°, preventing damage from high-pressure impact and ensuring the disc returns to its position accurately.

Q4: Can this valve be used for high-temperature media?

This valve is designed to operate within a temperature range of -20°C to 120°C, making it suitable for standard industrial and municipal HVAC or water systems.

Q5: Is it suitable for systems with low flow resistance requirements?

Yes, the valve body features a straight-through horn mouth design with a smooth inner wall, which significantly reduces medium flow resistance and prevents impurity accumulation.

Q6: What standards does the flange connection follow?

The valve follows the DIN F6 standard for dimensions and construction, ensuring compatibility with standard industrial pipeline specifications.
